This hands-on, 10-week, one hour class provides an excellent foundation for students wanting to learn the basics of sound engineering, with a particular focus on live sound technology. It is available to students aged 12 years and older and will start in October and conclude with the IIM December show.
It begins with exploring the basics of signal flow from instrument to output that applies to both live sound and studio. Students will learn how to set up and operate a basic Public Address (PA) system, including multiple mic-ing techniques, EQ-ing individual instruments and mixing.
As part of the class, students will then work as sound engineers for the bands’ live performances in December.
The cash price for this class is $450 for non IIM students and $400 for existing IIM students or their siblings.
A minimum of two (2) students is required for the class to operate.
