Open House a Success ~ Dress Rehearsals Coming Up

Immersed In Music’s two day Open House this past Monday and Tuesday brought in new families looking to take advantage of our upcoming summer camps, as well as next year’s Young Rockers, Rockers Prep, Rockers, Sound Engineering, Song Writing, and Music Theory programs. Our individual instrument lessons in vocals, guitar, bass, and piano instruction were also highlighted, with visitors able to check out the relaxed and motivating style of teaching that our staff employs.

Next week will bring new experiences for the bands and sound engineering students as they hit the stage for live show dress rehearsals. The sound engineering students, who have been putting the finishing touches on mixing the studio recordings in preparation for the production of this year’s compilation CD, will transition to live sound work. They will be re-familiarizing themselves with everything they practiced at the December shows, both in terms of stage setup and mixing the live sound.

The bands will have their first change since December to play on a stage, so they are tightening up their set lists and practicing their on-stage banter. All IIM bands have added new songs since they last performed live, with up to 11 songs in one band’s repertoire. They have been using their rehearsal time during the last few weeks to try out various combinations of their songs and work out how they want to interact with their audience.
