Students in the Rockers Prep and Rockers programs have been spending time at home preparing for Placements this coming Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10. Everyone should have used the online Google form to sign up for a time slot and chosen the song they will perform at their Placement.
It’s an energizing time at Immersed In Music and, for many, it’s a mixture of nervousness and excitement. Some of our students have come up through the Young Rockers and Advanced Young Rockers courses and are now going through the Placements process for the first time.
Many of the Rockers are looking forward to getting together with old friends. It was obvious at Orientation that some of these band members were having fun reconnecting with each other after a summer apart. They clearly are excited about the idea of expanding on what they accomplished last year. Several of last year’s bands plan to stay together and build on the set lists they featured at the May and June live shows.
Finally, the Community Arts Magazine staff met last week to begin strategizing a format and name for this new IIM project. Several past IIM students are returning to help spearhead this very exciting venture. Stay tuned for more information about this in the coming weeks.
