During Shutdown, IIM Moves Online To Teach Classes and Lessons

As you all know, Governor Wolf closed Pennsylvania schools for two weeks as of this past Monday. This has essentially forced Immersed In Music to hit the pause button on all band rehearsals. As we make plans on how to schedule make up time for bands to continue to prepare for end of year live shows, some of our staff are continuing to meet with students through video classes and lessons.

Camela Kraemer (vocals), Rick Stevens (piano), and Titus Irvin (guitar and bass) have begun teaching their individual lessons online, using interactive video conferencing apps. Rick Batley has continued to teach Music Theory and Songwriting classes using the same technology. And Anwar Curtis forged ahead with our Making Notes Magazine student writers and editors to work on getting their first issue to the printer.

This technology has enabled our students’ lessons, classes, and Magazine meetings to continue uninterrupted during this challenging time. It has also allowed IIM to provide a service to our students’ families by giving their kids something educational to focus on while schools are closed.

We look forward to getting all our activities back on a regular schedule as soon as possible. In the meantime, the Immersed In Music staff urges everyone to enjoy this time with their families and stay safe.
