posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Camela Widad Kraemer has joined the IIM staff as a vocal instructor this year, giving individual lessons, as well as mentoring vocalists in our bands on an as-needed basis.  Camela is an amazing singer-songwriter who has toured the United States for over 20 years, earned a BA in Theatre, trained in Live Stage Performance techniques, and has 25 years’ experience with songwriting. She has been described as an Americana Folk troubadour:  part poetess, part mystic, with a voice like honey and fire; “A little bit saintly – a little bit rock-n-roll.”

Camela is also a skilled, experienced vocal instructor who, for ten years, has run a thriving private vocal coaching practice for students of all ages and levels of experience. She uses a teaching style of Contemporary Voice rooted in honoring each person’s natural voice.  Her technique training builds strength, endurance, pitch correction, and safety for each singer’s natural range, while being age appropriate for burgeoning artists of all ages.

Camela has released five albums, the most recent of which, “Warriors of Love,” received critical acclaim as “a voice with clear resonance and deep roots-oriented discipline” and “a troubadour that deserves attention.” She was also named a 2015 Emerging Artist with the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival/Grassy Hill.
