All the bands have done an amazing job in the studio, and we are very proud of what they have accomplished. Now that all drum tracks have been finished, members from multiple bands have been working on overdubs. We hope to wrap up all recording work by the end of the month, before the next step of mixing begins.
Work in a recording studio is always an adventure, and this year has been no exception. In addition to all the nervousness, successes, and frustrations which are always a part of the recording process, there have also been weather and illness issues to deal with, which then turned into scheduling complications.
One band faced all of this, and when they were rescheduled after the weather cleared, their lead singer had just left on a 10-day vacation. They figured out a way to lay down the basic tracks without her, and are now finishing instrument overdubs so she can put her vocals on over the instrumental tracks.
A big shout out to Joe Trojcak and the wonderful staff at Progressive Enterprises for their professionalism and their flexibility. This studio experience has been everything we hoped for, and we look forward to hearing the results of all the hard work our students have put into their recordings.
