New year. New songs.

Young Rockers began the New Year reviewing their first two songs and selecting a third. The Cookies handily selected Snow by the Red Hot Chili Peppers but required a bit more deliberation to choose instruments. The Bad Direction selected My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark  by Fallout Boy. The Rockers and the Rollers considered several songs, finally finding consensus with Back in Black by AC/DC. Crazy Bob Dabbing the Block easily settled on Riptide by Vance Joy.

Level 1&2 Rockers were also in “select and start” mode, with new songs for all three bands. The MetroGnomes began Johnny Boy by 21 Pilots and worked through to the bridge. Undecided began the lead lines to You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi, while Last Light chose Scar Tissue by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Level 3 and 4 bands are all in various stages of writing and recording original material. Charlemagne began this week with some basic chord structures, but immediately hit a frustration point. They may choose to put several new covers together instead. The Canadian Americans have worked through some chord progressions and keyboard with some assistance from instructors. Revoke and Reflecting Pool are currently working on original songs as well.  The Watergate made plans for the release of their EP and their live performances while keyboard player Graham spent time in the studio.
