Recording 1 Accelerated Course
Open to all participants 10 years and older
Please note - this is an Accelerated Class and covers a full year + in 5 months
The Primary Goal of the Course:
Recording 1 is the first of our studio courses. The course starts with modified versions of Intro to Sound and Studio Basics, and quickly moves to recording. Students will learn multiple micing techniques for various instruments including Drums, Bass, Keyboard, Electric and Acoustic guitars, Voice, and other instruments as time allows. Through a mix of critical listening and experimentation, students will learn how to quickly and efficiently get the desired sound of any instrument. As the class progresses, students will learn how to use the DAW and basic plugins and outboard gear to help shape the sounds they are recording. As part of the Recording class, Students will be asked to be an assisting Engineer with the Immersed in Music Rockers bands while they record their demos. Nearing the end of the class, students will have the opportunity to begin mixing the tracks they recorded. Upon completion, students will be given a copy of the tracks they recorded.
Prerequisite:
Students must be 10 years of age and up, with a minimum of 2 students participating, maximum 4 per session.

Structure of the Course:
Recording 1 will meet most Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 20th through the end of May 2026. Additional sessions will be added during the Immersed in Music Rockers recording sessions. Standard Classes will be 90 minutes to two hours long, depending on the topic. Students will have the opportunity to meet for no less than 50 sessions. If necessary, make-ups will be scheduled based on student and instructor availabilities.
Students will usually meet at the studio – information will be provided on request or at sign up.
Course Times and Fees:
Recording 1 Accelerated will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for a two hour block between 4 and 8pm – your student’s time will be determined before class begins.
Cost of the Course is $1800 per student. Payments can be made in 5 installments of $360 per month. Payment can be done via our website or by check.
Checks are to be made payable to “Immersed In Music” and paid the first week of every month.
