Audition 1
Open to any Student looking for the skills needed to apply to an Arts Magnet School
Primary Goal of Audition 1 –
Teach Students the necessary skills needed to pass the entrance audition for a High School level Arts Magnet School.
In Audition 1, Students will learn Basic Music Theory, Sight Reading (in at least 3 keys), and Practice Ear Training. This 24 class Course will give the student the foundation to pass the entrance audition and help them acclimate to the pace of an Arts Magnet School for Music. Audition 1 and its supplemental course Audition 2, will give the student all of the tools needed to be successful in a High School level Arts Magnet School.
Prerequisite:
Have a primary noted instrument picked for your audition. Audition 1 is currently geared to Voice, Guitar, Bass, and Piano.
If you are interested in auditioning on drums, please reach out and we can help. However, we are not currently offering this course geared to drummers.
Structure of the Course:
Audition 1 will start in a group classroom setting the week of January 17th with Basic Music Theory. Once the theory portion is completed, students will transition into learning Sight Reading and then to an individualized private setting for Ear Training. Classes will conclude near the end of May.
Course Times and Fees:
Audition 1 class times will be about an hour long and will be set before the first week of class January 17th. Class times will be arranged based on student availability. Before students transition to Ear Training, half hour lesson blocks will be set.
Cost of this 24 session course is $1200.
Payment can be made by check or on our website. Payments can be made in one lump sum or monthly for 5 months (January through May).
Payments are due the first week of every month unless automatic payments are set up.
