Young Rockers Are Rockin’ Their First Experience in IIM and Brand New IIM Community Arts Magazine Breaks Out Online

“Open Windows” is an enthusiastic group of new Young Rockers who are having a ball learning how to work together. They started with the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop” and recently began work on their second song, “Happier” by Marshmello.

On the Ramones song, Harper is rockin’ the keys and is now ready to push herself to the next level by adding a left hand bass line. Zoe is holding down a solid drum beat, and is ready to begin adding some additional drum work to the basic beats she has been playing. Willow has solidified the rhythm on the guitar and Bella is fronting the band on vocals. Each has learned their parts well and, as a band have now put it all together.

They have also done rhythm work and counting as they work to tighten up their timing. One of the most important accomplishments for this band is that they are realizing that they have to listen to each other as a way of channeling their enthusiasm into the performance of the songs.

As a separate announcement, the new Immersed In Music Community Arts Magazine “Making Notes” is debuting online with articles on the magazine’s new Facebook and Instagram pages. Check out articles as they roll out during the next few weeks before our print copy hits the press in a few months.

The magazine staff of Nadia, Patrick, and Christian, led by Anwar, have been working hard to create copy and illustrations for these first publications. Check out Anwar’s “Pick It Apart” interview, Patrick and Christian’s feature on their journey to the Bon Iver concert in Philadelphia, and Nadia’s awesome illustrations.  All this, and more is unfolding online.

Upcoming articles and columns will feature concert reviews, art exhibit discussions, theater experiences, and a calendar of events related to everything art in the greater Harrisburg area.
