As most bands came into their third week of rehearsals, they were ready to pick a second song. Members are beginning to get comfortable with each other and communication is getting easier. They’ve had a lot of fun playing their first song and it was time to build on this sense of satisfaction and pick new ones.
During their first two rehearsals, bands worked on their initial songs, chosen from a variety of artists including the Ramones, Sabrina Carpenter, Imagine Dragons, Alicia Keys, Skillet, Pink, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. This week, discussions of second song choices got passionate, with everyone lobbying for their favorites. Rockers A had avoided this by simply picking two songs at their first rehearsal. They have now moved into charting and rehearsing Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” as their second song.
Orbit also took a different route because, with previous band members Nick and Dakota moving on to other pursuits, Graham (keys) and Maddy (drums) have taken over these open seats. Everyone is thrilled to be hearing how they are adding their creative ideas to many of the songs that Orbit featured last year.
