Dave Kelly has been a professional musician, instructor, and sound engineer for the past thirty one years. He began playing the guitar at 10 years of age. While attending Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pa, he played with several local bands.
In 1983, he became a full time musician, and toured the country with several regional bands from 1983 to 1995. During this time, he traveled from Canada to Florida, and appeared in one of the top showrooms in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Returning to central Pennsylvania, he began to teach guitar and to front his own country band. He currently plays guitar and is the lead singer of the country band Laredo. They perform throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. He also performs with a number of other local and regional acts including country singer Richie Fields from Baltimore, Maryland, and singer songwriter Sherri Mullen from Harrisburg, Pa. Since 1995, he has taught hundreds of guitar students. He joined the staff of Londonderry School in 1998 as the 7th and 8th grade music instructor, and has continued in that position for the past 16 years. In the past several years, Dave built his own recording studio at his home in Hummelstown, Pa. He has done numerous projects there, including the first “Immersed in Music” CD.
