Rehearsing On Stage!

This week, many of the bands got the opportunity to rehearse their songs on stage, as staff members set up equipment and did sound checks in preparation for next week’s live performances. The overall effect in the view from the audience area was amazing, as Rick Batley, Habiba Miller and Dave Kelly worked to add effects lighting, giving the students a feel for being real rock stars!

“Amplify Overload,” Tuesday’s Young Rockers group members were amazed by how large the stage felt, and jumped into their practice performance with all the energy that their name implies! “Lemonade” has a number of students who are new to the program and being on stage gave them a feeling of confidence in advance of next week. As Caitlyn, “Lemonade’s” lead vocalist told me, “I was surprised with how comfortable I felt. I expected to feel a lot more nervous, and being able to rehearse on stage helped me to relax with the thought of performing at the show.”

Come out and enjoy the concerts this Monday and/or Tuesday, December 18 and 19, at 6:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at Londonderry School, 1800 Bamberger Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The show is free and open to the general public.

Everyone will be taking a well deserved Winter break after Tuesday’s concert. Rehearsals (and studio sessions!) will resume on Monday, January 8, 2018.
