This week saw two nights of Placement performances. This experience is one of the most challenging parts that all students face as members of any of the Rockers’ bands. At their Orientation session, each student was given a packet of music containing a 4-song CD and sheet music, tab, chord charts, and lyrics for those songs. Their responsibility was to learn one of the songs to the best of their ability and perform what they learned in front of the 5 instructors at a 15-minute question/answer/performance session. The purpose of this is to help the staff place each student in a band of peer musicians that will challenge him/her to an appropriate degree, enabling them to both stretch their skill levels and succeed in their efforts. We are very proud of the time and the work the students put into preparing for these sessions. We will now be able to organize them into their working band groups.
