The Midtown Tavern at 1101 N 2nd St in Harrisburg will host The Black Bandits, KAAPE, and Orbit for the first of IIM’s live shows this Tuesday, May 28, at 6:30 pm. Live shows are the culmination of ten months of hard work by our students. They have had fun playing music together, learned how to compromise on song choices, worked through differing points of view on song arrangements, and bonded as friends in the studio and rehearsals.
The Black Bandits are IIM’s Rockers Prep band this year, and they will open the show with songs by Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and AC/DC. This band had been in previous Young Rockers bands and now that they have moved up to the Rockers Prep level, this is their first experience playing in a club like the Midtown Tavern.
KAAPE will be highlighting songs by Pink Floyd, U2, Grateful Dead, and Blind Melon. This band has really gelled as a unit since being in the studio, and we’re all looking forward to hearing them play live.
Orbit will close out the night with a 40-minute set featuring songs by Paramore,The Raconteurs, Weezer, The Killers, Rex Orange County, The Beatles, and The Lemonheads. Orbit has been one of the hardest working bands this year and the combination of Ella and Yusuf’s lead vocals with Nick’s keyboards, Madison’s guitar work, Jack’s bass, all held together by Dakota’s powerful drumming, is something you don’t want to miss!
