This year, IIM has a wide variety of new offerings, along with several of our tried and true favorites from past summers.
Our new camps highlight Jay Kirssin, IIM’s newest staff member and HAAC/Harrisburg University professor, who is offering three different week-long Sound Engineering related options: Performance Sound Systems, Recording at Home, and Mix With Your Ears; Anwar Curtis, Pennlive blogger, who is teaching a half-day introductory camp about how to write and post music blogs; and Camela Kraemer, IIM vocal instructor, who is excited to be offering two different half-day singing camps, one geared for beginning students and one for more experienced vocalists.
Wade Corbin is reprising his highly sought Fundamental Drumming 1 and 2 half-day camps; and Habiba Miller, along with Alex Valsing, again will teach several full-day Young Rockers and Rockers camps. These camps have filled in previous years as a way for new students to experience what the ten-month band programs are like, and for existing IIM students to get that extra bit of expertise which will enable them to move up to the next level in our Rockers program.
Most of the camps will conclude on Fridays with a public performance, showcasing what they have accomplished during the week. Sound Engineering campers will be responsible for the live sound production for some of these shows.
